Morning Minute: Home construction climbs to nearly five-year high

Interest rates may be rising higher but that didn’t seem to put a damper on new residential home construction in July, which rose to its highest level since 2008, the Wall Street Journal reports. Data from the U.S. Commerce Department showed a 0.6 percent increase in private residential construction that month. Read the full story, “Home Construction Spending at Highest Level Since 2008.”
