Historic board meeting for IAR

IAR's Board of Directors met Dec. 10 in Springfield. It was the first meeting for a restructured 28-person board.

The Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® met in a historic meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Springfield.

This was the first meeting of the board, which was was restructured to have 28 members, down from more than 100.

IAR President Phil Chiles welcomed board members and noted that they were making history for the association, founded in 1916.

The board voted to restructure in 2012, with the changes taking effect for the 2014 term. The change was made to make the board better able to respond to market challenges and to enhance member engagement
