Census Infographic: Computer and internet growth trends

In 1997, only 18 percent of American households had Internet service at home. Fast forward to 2012 and that had jumped to 74.8 percent, according to data from the Census Bureau.

With more homebuyers starting their search for a home online, this new Census infographic has some interesting information on who is using this technology and how. Click on the image to see the full infographic.

Another interesting stat: In 2012, 45.3 percent of people 25 and older were using a smartphone.
