U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski met with Illinois REALTORS® on Tuesday, Feb. 19, as part of an ongoing series of congressional meetings sponsored by the Illinois Association of REALTORS®.
The meetings are held with members of Congress to allow IAR members to share what they are seeing in the market, and hear about the impact of federal policy on the real estate industry.
While he was thanked for his continued support of the industry, Lipinski also heard about problems with short sales and struggles in condo financing. He said he enjoyed meeting the membership and hearing the “on the ground” perspective of his REALTOR® constituents.
The session was one of two scheduled this week. A meeting with U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos is slated for Friday, Feb. 21 in Rock Island.
