Act now on IAR’s Call for Action on SB 2664 and HB 4609!

Illinois REALTORS®, we need your help urging state lawmakers to vote ‘YES’ on important legislation protecting buyers of foreclosed condos and consumers from the establishment of fire sprinkler mandates by administrative rule.

If you haven’t yet, participate in IAR’s Call for Action on Senate Bill 2664 and House Bill 4609! It only takes a moment but REALTORS® can make a difference on the issues important to you as state lawmakers head into these final weeks of session.

Take Action Now!

  • SB 2664 – With a potential vote coming soon, IAR is stepping up its lobbying efforts for this bill, which creates a clear and fair formula for calculating the amount to be paid by purchasers of foreclosed condominiums when it comes to back assessments on the property. The bill would also give the buyer better notice of the potential obligation.
  • HB4609 would ban the State Fire Marshal from establishing a fire sprinkler mandate by administrative rule. REALTORS® have opposed residential sprinkler mandates which drive up the cost of homeownership and take the decision away from homeowners.
