Springfield Habitat build launches; volunteers still needed

Members of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® are building a home for Habitat for Humanity in Springfield, Ill., this summer. Volunteers began work on an E.ast Enterprise St. home in Springfield May 19, 2014.

Illinois REALTORS® began building a house for Habitat for Humanity in Springfield Monday, May 19, 2014, as part of a plan to build three houses for the charity this year.

IAR President Phil Chiles, who came up with the idea for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® to conduct the builds, was at the site directing work.

The build in Springfield kicks off as work on a similar home in Murphysboro, Ill., is winding down. Work there is scheduled to be completed by May 31, 2014.

A build in Aurora will begin July 7, 2014.
